When do you weigh yourself? Topic

I typically weigh myself in the morning because that's what I heard was the best time to do so. I sometimes weigh myself throughout the way just to see how much of a difference there is. Does anyone else's weight go up throughout the day?? Is it normal?

Yes my weight goes up. When you wake up and weigh yourself you weigh less simply because you didn't eat anything throughout the night(: It's normal & don't worry too much about the number on the scale instead try taking measurements!

Hydration changes through out the day affects weight more than anything else. 16 fl oz of water weighs a lb. We respire, perspire, eat food, go to to bathroom, and are by weight, still mostly water.
Body weight changes over the long term are better to look at for change...over weeks and months - not hour to hour or even day to day!

I weigh myself every morning after I go to the bathroom, that way I can log correctly. I always weigh around 7am.

I used to weigh myself about 3x a day....morning (to keep me going) then before dinner and before going to bed. The last 2x were more because I have allergies and a bad stomach and it helped me figure out which foods helped me and which foods hindered me. I learned a great deal this way but don't recommend it for everyone.

I was told to only weigh once a week when trying to lose weight so that I don't get discouraged when the scale doesn't move. It has given me something to look forward to; for the first time in 8 years, I want to get on the scale each week!

I used to weigh myself every morning before I ate or drank anything. Now I only do it once a week or so, though, because I found that the number on the scale in the morning had too much power to shadow my mind for the day if it went up unexpectedly, even though intellectually I know it was within a normal range of fluctuation. I don't think changes from one day to another are all that meaningful about your actual body composition; it's the longer-term trends that count,

Weigh ins - ideally, do it first thing in the morning after going to the bathroom but before eating. Some folks weigh daily whereas others do it weekly. If you weigh yourself daily, then be prepared for a lot of ups & downs since hydration affects weight quite a bit.
I wouldn't weigh yourself more than 1x/day - unless you are doing it for a sports nutrition plan for assessing water loss with activity (to help you hydrate appropriately). 16 fl oz of water weighs a lb - so you can replace sweat losses by knowing pre & post dry body weight.

I'm a once a day kind of guy and I weigh myself in the morning. I am realistic and know that there will be fluctuations but for me, getting on the scale every morning is just a reminder. Once I stop weighing myself every day, I gain weight...and a lot of it.
