Volume vs Weight for nutrients Topic

I find it very easy to log nutrients by weight. I keep a weighing scale on the kitchen counter and can quickly weigh things as they are added to a meal. It is very annoying that some items (and mynetdiary) only give the nutrient information by volume - mainly things in that come in cartons or cans. Many are not pure liquids or are items that one drains before using. Volume is much more difficult, time consuming, messy and imprecise, to measure than weight.
I have given up on measuring volume and created an excel spreadsheet to enable me to derive volumes from weights. Beside the name of the item, I enter the volume given on the container. I weigh the usable contents (eg. drained chickpeas) and enter the weight of usable food in the container. That serves as the database that grows as I add new products. I then have a field where I can enter the weight I have used, and a formula field ((Total Wt/Vol) x Used Wt) that returns the volume for that weight.
Are there other/more obvious solutions to this issue?

Hi there U6125529-
Have you checked out the staples food database? Just look for the folder and apple icon. For example 1 C of chickpeas or 164g =269 calories.
