Not Losing Weight... Frustrated!! Topic

I have been counting my calories, tracking them, cardio at the gym, and also doing Body Groove at home. I'm finding I will dip 2-3 pounds and then almost immediately gain them back again within a couple of days! I am so frustrated! My calories are set to cycle, and I al almost always under my calorie limit by at least 200. I don't eat a lot of sugar, and I rarely eat breads, pastas, etc.
The only thing that I can think of is that its somehow tied to my working nights - I get up at 4pm, have a meal (dinner) at 8pm, have a snack about 3am, another smaller breakfast type meal at 6am, then sleep from 9am to 4pm.
Does anyone have any advice, please?

How much water are you drinking? I find my weight can fluctuate a lot if I don’t drink 60-80 oz of water a day. Also, don’t just go by what you see on the scale. Have you measured yourself? You may be replacing fat with muscle which is a good thing. Also, look for the trend over time. Day to day fluctuations of as much as 5 lbs can happen and have nothing to do with fat loss.

Hi TabaxiRogue! Today, so far, I have had 47 oz of water - that does count my overnight intake as well, since it falls after midnight. I have also had 1, 24oz glass of Diet Mountain Dew (my wakeup juice, heh). I have not measured myself, I will do that and keep an eye on that, thanks for that tip!

Best to cut out the diet soda, for something healthier switch to coffee or tea with limited to no sugar. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/do-diet-drinks-hinder-weight-loss-and-contribute-to-belly-fat#3

Hi Eirerose- Sorry to hear the scale is not reflecting your hard work. This can be very frustrating!
Strong work on committing to tracking and regular planned activity!
Doing shift work makes it harder to lose weight due to changes in your circadian rhythm and lack of sleep is associated with weight gain. Here's an article that can help with some tips for working nights-https://www.mynetdiary.com/healthy-eating-tips-for-night-shift-workers.html
Also, -Are you drinking lots of water?
-Are you eating veggies and fruits daily?
Finally, it can take a few weeks of lifestyle changes before you see results on the scale. Hang in there and please let us know how things are going. Best, Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

Hi Joanna! Thank you for that article, I had not seen it! I am drinking water, though, I could probably stand to drink more. I do eat veggies daily, not always fruit. I eat lots of chicken, some ground beef on occasion, and as mentioned, very little bread or pasta, or sugars. Snacks at work are harder - bananas when available, sometimes a serving of baked chips, very very rarely, a doughnut if there's just really nothing else. Occasionally, also, I will do one of the drinkable yogurt things.
