Moving average for weight Topic


When I'm close to my target date for a weight loss goal, daily weight fluctuations will vary my calories for the day by up to +/- 150 calories. How do you recommend handling this? Have you considered using a moving average for weight to help smooth out the daily fluctuations?

I do weigh myself at the same time every day. The weight fluctuations I'm seeing are about +/- 1%.


I don’t think there is harm in a more sophisticated calculation so long as thinking about food more leads to more control rather than more eating. If it works, you do you. ??
