I have a little problem. I am underweight and the main question is what should i look out for calories or macros. I dont eat or like fatty foods like pizza, Hamburger etc... So i want to gain weight without gaining fat on my body. I want to build muscles and i burn 1.5k calories every day. (Low fat, high carbs diet).
My body info:
- weight 52 kg
- height 173 cm
- 17 yrs old
Someone please help me with my macros!
How much Fat(g) should I consume per day
How much carbs(g) should I consume per day
How much protein(g) should I consume per day
- First target weight 55 Kg
Any input or advice is appreciated!!

i don’t really know but i know that to gain muscle and healthy weight (and not fatty weight) is to eat 2,000+ calories full of protein (especially if you want to gain muscle), healthy fats, carbs, fruit and veg. obviously you can eat processed foods and fatty foods, but i’d say stick to a balanced diet, just eating a lot more and bigger meals.

I am trying to gain muscle/weight for a sport I’m playing and I have these mass building shakes that I take each day that account for a solid 1000 calories. It’s hard at first because they’re thick but now I like them. I’m no expert but that has helped me gain 12 pounds in a relatively short time. For reference one of the brands I’m currently using is prime mass. Hope this helps.

Hi EtienneX, thanks for reaching out! I would focus on calories and protein for weight gain and building muscle. Consistently meeting your weight gain calorie goal will result in weight gain. Based on your body weight, I would aim for at least 80-95 grams protein daily to build muscle. You are smart to focus on healthy foods and not just eat a lot of junky high-calorie foods to gain. Be generous with calorie boosters like extra oil, nut butter, cheese, avocado. Snacking between meals can help pack the calories in also. Here is an article that you may find useful. https://www.mynetdiary.com/tips-for-healthy-weight-gain.html
Hope this helps and keep us posted about how you are doing! Brenda (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

Hey bro, i’m 17 putting on weight for football. i’ve had lots of success putting on weight and what i feel has helped me was not worry so much about the fat gain. You’re burning tons of cals a day. I put on like 60 lbs in 6 months in the wrestling season. I ate 3 large pizzas a week for dinner and misc the other nights. (reference)
