Does anyone else not see the scale budge at first for a couple weeks? Topic

Hi all, so nice to be here! I have been using this app on and off for many years, and am buckling down to get back to my pre-pandemic health habits and weight. One thing I've noticed when I have geared up to work out (strength predominantly, low intensity cardio, climbing) and restrict cals (just by only 200-600 per day max) is that the scale will NOT MOVE for a couple of weeks!
It drives me nuts but then after a few weeks pass, if I've truly been eating well and working out, all of a sudden it drops by a couple pounds and then continues the trend as long as I do. Since I do a lot of strength training and have a thyroid condition that retains water, I have chalked this up to water weight and increased glycogen storage due to the sudden demands of 0-challenging strength training.
Has anyone else had this happen? I'm just a week in now and am curious to hear others' experiences. It's tempting to get discouraged or to try and restrict calories more, but neither of those are really what we want to do, which is fuel ourselves well and build strength and endurance.

Don’t get discouraged.. keep on moving forward. How do you clothes fit? How do you feel? I try to focus on this vs the scales I’m hoping to get back into strength trying, got shoulder issues, so I’m going slow. Only had this app since June and it’s awesome! Keep up your good healthy habits!
