Losing weight does not need to be about cutting things from your diet. A healthy diet includes healthy fats & complex carbohydrates. The body needs them to function properly, especially if you are incorporating exercise into your routine.
An egg with multigrain toast is a great option to start your day. Or a protein smoothie with a high quality protein powder, healthy fat (nut butters or coconut oil) & whatever else you want for flavour.

As for bkfst- You might try: 1 egg + 1 egg white scrambled + 1/2 C black beans (cooked with 1 green onion and some kale) with salsa on top alongside a 1/2 C of fat-free cottage cheese. Yum! Hope this helps. Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

What is considered “high quality” protein powder?

Hi there Inch59-
Great question! When it comes to nutrition it all depends on your goals. Are you working to lose weight? Do you consume animal products? If so, I'd suggest a protein powder that is whey or egg-white-based. Try to find one without a lot of extra added sugar. Are you vegan? Then I'd suggest turning to a powder made from yellow peas. You may find this article helpful in evaluating different protein powders: https://www.mynetdiary.com/protein-powder-pros-and-cons.html
