I see that this was written in 2012, so is naturally out of date. Here in 2018, can custom foods be shared via mobile app? I will not be using the web for MyNetDiary use on a day-to-day basis, and am using this app along with some other family members. When we eat a meal together, it would be really AWESOME if only one of us had to create the custom food and then share it with others editing for portion size. Is this possible with the mobile app? I can't seem to find any way to see or share custom foods.

Yes, Chaddy5! If you send your family members a friend invite, you can share each other's foods and recipes. Right now, you still have to login to the web program and go to person's community page to see their list of foods and recipes (and to click on the copy link). We hope to update this so that everything can be done via app, but it is not there yet. Let us know if you need more guidance on this.

I used to be able to create recipes in my iPhone app. Now, when I click on what looks like a pencil taking notes icon, I get a move/copy/delete choice instead of going to the recipe creation page. I don't want to move/copy/delete. I want to create.
Where did the "create recipe" function go in the iPhone app?

Hello Mynet314,
Sorry you are having issues entering recipes. I passed your question on to tech support and hopefully we will have an answer soon!

Hi Mynet314,
Here is tech support response:
On the iPhone app, user has to open the particular meal screen, e.g.
the Breakfast screen. Then, user has to tap menu which is located on
the top right corner of the Breakfast screen.
The "Recipe" option looks like a "dish and glass" icon.
Hope that helps! Brenda (Dietitian)

I see few of these questions have been resolved. The "Modern Look" sucks because the ease of making recipes is gone. Now it doesn't even work in classic mode (which will stop being available. When that happens, I'm moving on to my fitness pal.

Hi Mynet214, you can still create recipes from your iPhone app! Tap the 3-dot icon at the top right of your screen and you will see an option to enter Custom Food or New Recipe in addition to other options.
Best,

Hi U5358310, the recent web app update actually gives members more options. In the modern screen, in any meal, you have the option of entering a custom recipe from your meal entries or adding a new recipe from scratch. Just tap "Custom" quick link in the last row of the meal (you will also see other options in that row as well).
Thanks,

I am totally new to this app.
I'm probably making it more difficult than it really is.
I want to create a simple recipe of the way I make my egg scramble.
Does my recipe get posted in the database, or does it just stay in my app?
I'd like list the items I add to my recipe and save it under my name.
So, it is easier to find.
Or, can I take an existing egg scramble recipe, modify it, and put my name in the title.
I have the Pro subscription.
Is there a video(s) on this?
Thanks for listening!

Hello EagleWorks, thanks for those great questions! When you add a recipe yourself, it goes into your recipe options in your account, not out there to other's. Here is a video on creating, editing, and sharing recipes. I have also attached the article on this as well.
