How in the heck do I get rid of stomach fat? It’s the only part on my body that needs to be rid of fat. It’s incredibly frustrating.

Hello G-Man,
Sorry to hear you are frustrated. Many people have issues with abdominal fat. It can certainly be genetic. Belly fat is not healthy though so it is good you are trying to decrease it. Have you been doing core exercises like sit ups, planks, bridges, etc? These exercises can help you strengthen the muscles in the core. Here is a link to examples of core exercises.

Some people do core exercises on their own or go to classes. I like pilates class, where there is a strong emphasis on strengthening the core.

This is one situation where cutting out refined carbs and grains for at least some time could help. Once you’ve shed the abdominal fat, you can reintroduce some whole grain foods (no more than 1/4 of your plate).

Basically, I’m suggesting lower carb, no grains. Nothing drastic. Allow yourself up to 100 grams of net carbs (caros minus fibre). Lots and lots of non-starchy veg, a little bit of starchy veg, and healthy protein).

It’s certainly an option to go really low carb or keto (20 grams or less of net carbs) but not necessary. If you do choose to do so, you can slowly reintroduce carby foods once you’ve lost the desired fat.

Not there yet but lost all my belly fat by cutting carbs and sugars…except fruits. Try low carb bread…lots of recipes online…they’re not bad and neither is sprouted grain breads…
