Accurate calories? Topic

I’ve noticed there’s a wide range of recommendations for daily calories. For an adult male of my size I’m seeing recommendations of anywhere from 1500 to 3000 per day. My current diet is targeting less than 1000 per day and I’m doing fine on it so far. I really did not over eat but my body just stores everything for whatever reason so I’m counting calories and targeting foods to try and reset my metabolism and get back to my ideal weight. Are the daily calories for the app correct for most users?

eating so little cause your body to grab onto the few calories it gets. You really need to be eating more.Never eat less than your resting basal metabolic rate

I agree but I'm just not sure what that amount is? Like I said, I'm seeing a very wide range across different sources and the netDiary app is showing the highest of those.

I am trying to go down about 20kg in a year so the app has allocated me just over 1800 calories a day. I think the calculations are based on how much weight you would like to lose over a set period. If you don’t have much to lose over a year it will hardly change the recommended daily maintenance calories. You can change your goal weight and time to lose it in the settings. Good luck.

@lessBiggerlnTX, you can calculate your basal metabolic rate (BMR) online, it should be sufficient to stay around that amount of calories to lose weight
