Blame is the whole problem with obesity, no one, not anyone wants themselves or others to be obese so no one is to blame. The minute we stop pointing fingers and start taking action ourselves, as individuals, employees, CEO's, politicians, EVERYONE. the situation will improve.

The Food Rules article/review in the NY Times is great. I love the S-Rule: No snacks, no seconds, no sweets--except on days beginning with "S" Of course, I do make an exception for healthy high fiber, low fat and salt snacks and believe that it is better to snack on those than to sit down to a bigger meal. Another of my favorite rules is "Stop before you are full." that's a harder one to follow since it's a subtle concept and a subtle physical state, but it's good to be mindful of the difference between satiation and a really full tummy.


Glad you liked Jane Brody's article, Clochette2! It took me years before I could "stop before full" but now that I do (most of the time), I feel so much better after eating AND I am more likely to do something physical after dinner. Dancing, walking, or whatever.

I am also a believer in lower calorie/healthy snacks as well, especially since my meals are smaller now.
