Hi Nixlove - be sure to eat meals and snacks (no skipping), get protein at every meal, regular activity, and most important of all, don't give up!
You can also search our forum on the web program for snack ideas. Try this link - it will take you to the last post but then you can scroll backwards to get more ideas: http://www.mynetdiary.com/message.do?key=1005.20.229
There are some great resources - be sure to read the articles on the main website http://www.mynetdiary.com/diet-and-weight-loss-resources.html and our blog http://www.mynetdiary.com/blog.html

I give up, I have been tracking everything that goes in my mouth. I never have more than 2000 calories in a day, I work hard. I am a tall retired soldier, big framed, was muscular when younger, still am compared to my age group, but my weight has only moved 3 pounds up and down over 6 weeks. At the moment I am 232ilbs. Where am I going wrong, most of my food is organic, i dont eat junk food, burgers etc.

Hi Hammerhead, let me see your data so I can troubleshoot for you. You can change your Information Sharing settings in your Community Profile on the web program. Be sure to share all (nothing identifying/personal will show up like your email or anything). Let me know when you want me to look at your data.
In the meantime, set your activity level to SEDENTARY if you log exercise. That will help the system avoid overestimating total energy expenditure. And only log actual net minutes of exercise, not activities of daily living or incidental walking up to about a mile (since they are already included in all levels of activity.
And be sure to read my article on how calories are calculated at MND: http://www.mynetdiary.com/customizing-calorie-goals.html

Don't give up!! I also am a slow loser. I've been waiting weeks to see the scale move down. It loves to move up it seems! One thing that's helped me is to up my water intake even though I think I was drinking enough. Maybe I just need more. I'm also trying so hard to conquer my negative thoughts. I haven't gone so far to journal, but I'm trying to turn them around and be positive. I CAN do this. Invisible changes count too. WALK if you can - walk walk walk . I hate to admit that there might be truth that when we're over 50, it just takes longer to come off.
Hang in there Hammerhead, you can do this!!

I have logged system as Sedentary although since retiring from Army, I now work as a nurse which is pretty busy most of the time.

Hi Hammerhead - very helpful now that I can see your data. Okay, knowing that you work as a nurse is helpful since on those days, your overall activity level is likely between light active and active. Given that you don't work 7 days a week (and activity levels refer to what your baseline is every single day), I would set your activity level at low active, assuming you work 3-5 days a week as a nurse. And, I would NOT nursing work hours since your light active spread across 7 days/week will cover that okay. Continue to log actual exercise minutes. The result of this will be to reduce total estimated calories expended which will be reflected in your Daily analysis statement. This will better help you create the needed calories deficit for weight loss (vs. ping pong up and down).
Food. I think you would benefit from fewer high calories dense foods and more veggies and fresh fruit. Pick one meal to work on at a time and find ways to use lower fat, less processed foods if you can.
I think small changes implemented over time will make a difference in your weight.

Many thanks, I will try this. I have spent a lifetime eating high carbs and MRE's so I am finding it difficult to eat fresh fruit and veg as my palete is not used to them, they are either too bland or too sweet.
I am managing with the reduction in calories though so I will carry on.
