Hi U5923319, hang in there. Weight control is a lifelong process and sometimes it takes time to develop consistent dietary habits that support our goals. Don't give up. Thomas Edison: "Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time."

I'm brand new and I've always dealt with bulimia and sever depression from the way I attack and analyze my body. I am ready to take on challenges and push myself to my limit of doing my absolute best to become fit and confident. I'm excited to embark on this journey with new/old mynetdiary individuals!

Typically, MND will adjust my calories up a bit when I have lost weight, and it will lower them when I gain (when I'm not on target). Sometimes these can be a huge drop, such as from 1400 to 700.
I understand this.
Today, my weight was up a pound or so from yesterday, but MND INCREASED my calorie limit from 900 to 1900.
Why would it do that?

Hi WiWildcat, MyNetDiary takes into account multiple factors. Your current weight logged, your target weight, rate of weight loss desired, estimated maintenance calories, and exercise logged. On a given day, with more exercise, your calories intake could be higher than the previous day. Be sure to read this short but helpful article on calories and how they are set at MyNetDiary: http://www.mynetdiary.com/customizing-calorie-goals.html

Hi Everyone - please use the dedicated forum "Ask a Registered Dietitian/Certified Diabetes Educator" if you have specific questions for me. It is at the top of the forum list (not here).

There are far too many foods on the database that I will never eat. How do I delete them?

Hi VKG23, tap the favorites star when you log your typical foods so that they show up in a list from which you can pick. That way, you can bypass all of the thousands of other foods. The other great feature is Staple Foods in both iPhone and Android apps. When you go to log a food, look for Staple Food or Staples as an option - it will likely look like a little folder. That feature allows us to quickly log basic foods common to many home kitchens (e.g. produce items, meat/fish/poultry, grains, etc.)
Thanks, Kathy, Consulting Dietitian with MyNetDiary
