I’m interested as well! I live alone, so don’t have accountability at home like so many of you. I joined another weight loss organization last year, and it just isn’t my style. So I just downloaded this app and went ahead and paid for one month of premium to see what it was all about.
Any tips on starting out?

So glad you joined us! I would suggest you start out tracking carefully and learning through self exploration of your habits as you go! You will learn that small adjustments in choices, portion sizes, and increased activity can lead to success! I would stay active on forum and also consider reading the blogs for motivation and education.

Also, have you read this article on getting started with tracking for weight loss?

Hi U1187496769! This app has worked great for me. I used it to lose my weight (60lbs, 1+year) and have been maintaining for the last 5 years. The biggest thing that helped me in the beginning was to just focus on each day’s calorie goal and not worry about “can I do this the rest of my life”. Just focus on getting through that day.
Using a food scale to weigh my food helps a TON. It will seem like a pain for a short time and then turns into second nature. Over time I figured out what foods were most satisfying and kept me full and my food likes have changed to things that are healthier. That helps me stick with it now because I feel so much better with good food choices and smaller portions.
Being tenacious about sticking to the plan was key for me! Now that I am done, it was totally worth it but in the moment of hungry temptation it just takes grit. A year to lose weight feels like a LONG time in the moment but afterwards....so worth it!

I am on my first week on the app but have been “dieting” for a few months, I have had sudden weight gain (due to my age I think and Chantix, which I started and then COVID-19 happened!) I gave up smoking, soda, dairy and “whites” (sugar, flour, pasta, white rice etc.) Now eating low carb - low calorie, adding protein and fiber and regular exercise. I was not seeing results till I started inputting everything, if nothing else I feel better.
The toughest struggle for me is between wanting to smoke vs wanting to eat, if I can’t do one I definitely want to do the other!!! Ugh!!!!
I also have the frustration of eating differently than everyone else in the house!
