I’ve had so many eating disorders in the past so i over indulge in my food choices during the day. I was always scared to track to trigger my bulimia. I’m facing my fear and starting a change because even without the app I started relapsing ! Wish me luck :)

Hello U1189392811- I am sorry to hear you have struggled with eating disorders in the past. I am sure you are scared!
Here are at MyNetDiary we take disordered eating very seriously. The research suggests that tracking calories (for example with an app like MyNetDiary) can actually make disordered eating, such as binge eating, worse.
For this reason we encourage you to STOP tracking and get professional help.
I realize this may sound harsh and not the answer you were hoping to hear.
I am suggesting this out of concern for your health and well-being.
In fact we have written this same advice into our disordered eating policy: https://www.mynetdiary.com/do-no-harm-mynetdiary-supports-healthful-eating.html
I am sure you are fearful- and not wanting things to get worse.
Please talk with your doctor about finding a therapist who specializes in disordered eating and a dietitian who can help you build a healthy/balanced meal plan to fuel your body in a healthy way.
Here is a resource to help you: https://help.eatingrecoverycenter.com/virtual-treatment-ed/
Please let me know you received this message and most of all- be kind to yourself!
Wishing you the best in your recovery. Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)
