Thanks Fran, I agree, I can't maintain without some structure and support. So happy to have found it here. Got in more exercise last week. Ate a bit more than usual yesterday for mother's day. Back to good habits today.

I did get a great Mother's Day gift from my son. It is Zumba for the Wii. I tried it last night and it was great fun! The music is nice with lots of variations. I am just up to medium intensity but it seems to be a good calorie burner.

I have a fitbit but doesn't really work for me.
Reason is I work in an office with really no chance to get up and go for a walk. So i know already by steps per day is way too low (avg 1000 - 1500)
That's why I hit the gym in the morning.
So it was just telling me what i already knew.

I think I need to slap on a pedometer again. I do get out and exercise daily, but I feel like I have become a slug at work. Sitting for hours is terrible for the body and if I don't set an alarm to get up and stretch, go up & down stairs, then I kind of gel into my seat!

I walk at lunch(hills)using a weight vest and use only stairs so it will give me an idea of what I am doing.

I have been sitting a lot at work too. I have actually been looking at a standing desk (adjusts up and down) and exploring the possibility of a treadmill desk to share among those in my office in our library space with the idea that we could each use it for an hour or so daily. Does anyone have experience with either?

I have a friend with back pain and she has her employer set up her standing desk as a condition of employment!
