Listening to others share ideas is how I decided a plan for myself. Two major injuries in two years (4x lumbar disc prolapse and ruptured Achilles) means excess weight I didn’t want. I started with some challenges. As soon as I could drop the crutches I started training with free weights and resistance bands on the floor and a stool. Started a keto, VLCD diet with fasting at the same time. I have lost 14kgs in 5 months. Got 15kg to go. I am far enough through recovery now I can start carefully dosing my weights a little higher. I’m almost pain free in the back and the leg is mostly cooperating. It gets angry on leg day. It’s been challenging sticking to my diet so what I did was planned out all my cheat meals. I wrote down every birthday, anniversary, celebration I want to join in with my family and friends and I splurge. I also found keto versions of my favourite snack. Chocolate chip ice cream. Staying committed to myself, my plan and eating ice cream!
