My steps Topic


I don’t know if this is cheating but I have my phone in my pocket through out the day and it tracks my steps which is what I want , but I hit 11,708 steps because I had it in my pocket all day and I did do a lot of moving around but I feel like that’s cheating on my steps even though I was moving through out the day. Is it cheating carrying my phone in my pocket to get all my steps in. I don’t know if that makes sense.


Definitely not cheating. You need a Fitbit or Apple Watch or some kind of step counter to track your steps. I have an Apple Watch & I love it!

I don’t think that’s cheating at all. It’s helping track your steps, which is exactly what the smart watches all do.


I would agree with everyone else that it isn’t cheating. I do the same thing. I know it’s not very accurate but it gives me a general idea on how much movement I have day to day.

How does your body feel today? Can you move that amount on a regular basis? When it comes to tracking steps, calories, grams of saturated fat, etc it is all about looking for patterns.
