I need a cheerleader! Topic

After some good steady weight loss, I’ve just watched my weight climb right back up. I was trying to be forgiving with myself and let myself celebrate my birthday and anniversary without too much fuss over calories, but now I feel super bummed!
I know how to get back on track, I just need some encouraging words that it’ll be okay!

Hang in there, it’s part of the process. We will always see some ups and downs as we track our progress. The best picture is the trend over a long period of time. Discouragement often comes when we narrow our viewpoint. Keep your eyes on the big picture. You had your time of celebration and now you get back on track and strive for your goal!

I’m glad it was helpful.
Also,
Always remember the reasons and feelings that prompted you start this journey and draw from that in times like these.

ChristieHolmes.
It will be OK. No need to feel bummed, you haven’t broken your diet, just allowed yourself to manage it to suit your life!
I wish I could show you my chart which has 3 upward jinks in an otherwise steady downward line. Like you I chose to give myself ‘diet holidays’ for special events - Xmas, 60th birthday, and a weekend break. I regained a little weight each time but didn’t allow myself to feel guilty, just drew a mental line under it and got back on track.
I agree with everything NVR-2-OLD has said, remember the big picture, and play a long game. You can celebrate without losing control, stay with it and you will reach you goal.

Hi ChristieHolmes-
Sorry to hear you are having a rough go. Weight management can be such a mental rollercoaster. Hope you were able to enjoy your special occasions without beating yourself up over your food choices. It is ok to splurge and celebrate with food. We deserve to let ourselves enjoy like through food. You will get back on track, even if it takes a bit longer than you'd planned.
