I try to keep my food more toward the vegetarian side by the little bit of meat. My vegetarian consist of vegetables with protein like beans.

I also watch my portions so that has a lot to do with it. I do not try to stop myself and I drink a lot of water.

Hi there U1193159823-
Great question! Many people use MyNetDiary as a weight loss tool. I am guessing you are also working to lose weight and wondering if you should focus your attention on calories or carbs. Am I correct?
Here are my thoughts:
Fat, carbohydrates, and protein are macronutrients. They provide calories and they constitute the bulk of what we eat. As described in this article: https://www.mynetdiary.com/calorie-planning.html,
to lose weight one must consume fewer calories than the total burned. Eating fewer calories also means eating fewer grams of carbohydrate, fat, and protein.
It is very important to reduce macronutrient consumption wisely, as your body needs all of them. The key to healthy weight loss is to consume all three macronutrients daily, in amounts that support your health, meet nutritional needs, and fit with your preferred eating style or diet type.
With that being said, MyNetDiary's default macronutrient distribution is lower in carbohydrates than the typical American diet. When you sign up for the app, without making any adjustments, your daily budget alots to 45% of calories from carbohydrates, 35% from fat, 20% from protein. Those values can be modified with Premium membership.
Please let us know if additional questions come up. We are happy to help~ Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)
