Gluten free Topic

Is there a way to track gluten with this program? There was not an option for gluten free diet. Just curious.

Greetings U1188244132-
Welcome to MyNetDiary. Glad you found us!
I want to make sure you I am understanding your question correctly. You want to track your symptoms after eating gluten?
You can do this by creating a custom tracker in the app.
From the ios app tap on "trackers" then create a new tracker by tapping on "Manage trackers."
If you had something else in mind- Just let us know.
BTW: We are in the process of developing a search function to exclude ingredients from the recipes in the premium recipe collection. Soon you will be able to conduct a search of over 250 recipes and exclude those that include gluten (which is quite a few).

That’s very good but I’m still having some issues with understanding do I need to weigh the food as well as the amount of ounces enter that in?

I thought gluten-free call rolled oats or a good thing to have for breakfast but on the tracker it says that I was over by calories

Hi ChaCha- You will get the most accurate calories/serving if you weigh the cooked food before eating it. I have a gram scale (it weighs in grams and ounces) that I purchased at a big box store.
Here's a resource that is super helpful when it comes to portions and tracking:

Then use the staple food feature for whole foods: https://www.mynetdiary.com/is-there-an-easier-way-to-log-your-basic-foods.html

Hi ChaCha- Yes oats are healthy, especially the plain old fashioned oats or groats.
By adjusting your portions you can adjust the calories. BTW: There is more and more research coming out of the health benefits of eating breakfast like a "king" and dinner like "pauper." Perhaps you could spare an extra 1-200 calories at bkfast and then eat less later in the day? Of course, you know your body the best, so do what works for you and your unique health goals!
