My question is today I ate in a deficit today and tracked everything in the log but it’s sayin I exceeded my deficit. What does that mean

Pretty sure that means your deficits was even greater than it needed to be. In other words, your plan might require a 500 calorie deficit by eating 1600 calories, but you only ate 1500 calories, so you exceeded your deficit by 100 calories.

Thank you for this succinct explanation. Yes, that is what it means to "exceed your deficit."
FYI: We suggest most people who are trying to lose weight eat at least 1200 calories a day and 60g of protein to ensure they are eating enough calories to meet their micronutrient needs. And 20g of protein/meal or 60 of protein per day will ensure you are getting in your essential amino acids and eating enough protein to stay full. Hi, I find when I eat the right things (healthy/low carb) I have a hard time eating enough calories. I am diabetic and take medication that slows digestion and makes you less hungry. I think it’s the volume of food. Any suggestions?

Greetings U3025560- Yes, it certainly takes some thoughtful planning to eat enough of the healthy things and eat often enough, especially if your hunger is low.
Have you tried adding healthy fats when cooking such as olive oil?
Have you tried small frequent snacks? Here are some ideas that Brenda put together- they aren't too high in carbs: https://www.mynetdiary.com/superfoods-for-your-immune-system-try-these-20-immune-boosting-snacks-at-less-than-150-calories-each.html
or these carb controlled snacks: https://www.mynetdiary.com/20-carb-counted-snacks-from-a-dietitian-s-kitchen.html
Make sure you aren't eating too much dietary fiber (even though it is healthy) as this can cause you to fill up on too little calories. Here's some more info on dietary fiber: Eat less of these foods- https://www.mynetdiary.com/great-food-sources-of-fiber.html
Does this help? Best, Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)
